PREMIER'S AWARD RECIPIENT

The Premier’s Award is the highest individual honour bestowed upon a 4-H Alberta youth member, recognizing elite leadership, community service, and dedication to the organization.

Originally donated personally by the Honourable E.C. Manning, Premier of Alberta, the accolade was first presented in 1964 to establish a legacy of recognizing top-tier youth leaders. Each year, exactly one outstanding Senior Member is chosen from the current 4-H Alberta Ambassador cohort following a rigorous application, presentation, and interview process at the annual Fall Senior Symposium.

The award is not just a historical trophy; it is an active, year-long provincial leadership role. The chosen recipient serves as the primary youth face of the organization, taking on major public duties.

We are so proud that the 2025-26 4-H Premier's Award winner is a Crestomere alum. 

AMBASSADORS

Ambassadors are carefully selected for the 4-H Senior Youth Leadership Program. They actively support their communities by assisting programs, helping members, and engaging with the public. They are enthusiastic and eager to contribute their time and help.

The selection process is rigorous and we are so thrilled to have 3 Ambassadors hail from our club!

STAN WICKBERG MEMORIAL AWARD

This award recognizes the member that is an active participate in meetings, is a volunteer on organizing events within the club for others to enjoy, who is a good advocate for our club, who is a quiet worker that does not expect recognition, is looking for things that need to be done, has a positive attitude, is smiling at club events, who engages with younger members and helps with guidance of them.

4-H MEDALLIONS

In 4-H Alberta, medallions are tangible physical honors earned through the 4-H Alberta Awards of Excellence program.

These medallions are not won at a single competition; instead, they recognize a member's cumulative achievement, dedication, and active participation over multiple years. They are calculated using the point totals tracked in a member's yearly 4-H Diary, which records club projects, public speaking, community service, and meeting attendance.

The Four Medallion Tiers

As members accumulate points across their 4-H careers:

Bronze Medallion: Earned at 90 points (typically takes 3 years membership).

Silver Medallion: Earned at 150 points (typically takes 4 to 5 years).

Gold Medallion: Earned at 220 points (typically takes 6 to 7 years).

Platinum Medallion: Earned at 320+ points (reserved for senior members with 8 or more years of extensive involvement).

PUBLIC SPEAKING

Public Speaking is a core cornerstone of the 4-H program, requiring every registered member to deliver a speech or presentation annually. The program focuses on building real-world communication confidence, moving members from local club showcases up to the Provincial Communications Competition.
