Community Service & Events

The Crestomere 4-H Multi Club has a long standing tradition of connecting with the residents of the Ponoka and Rimbey Senior Living facilities. 

The Ponoka residents are entertained with music, poetry and jokes and then we serve an evening treat of coffee, tea and ice cream while we visit. The seniors love this annual event, and so do we!

The Rimbey residents enjoy a rousing round of BINGO, they are very serious about the game and always give our members a run for their money!

Sharing generational stories and connecting with our community this way always fills our hearts with joy. 

Highway Clean-Up is an Alberta-wide event that numerous clubs and groups participate it. It is always the first Saturday of May and our club makes short work of their sections of highway near Ponoka. "Leave it better than you found it", and we certainly do!

Thank you to everyone that waves, honks and slows down for these hard working groups across the province. 

The Spaghetti Supper was a fundraiser for the Exchange Trip. The community came out to fill their bellies and open their wallets for the Hire-A-4H'er work bee and dessert auction. Members spoke about what they were looking forward to about the trip and booked their work bee dates with whoever the highest bidder was.

The Showcase Supper was a chance for members to show the community what 4H is all about. Everybody pitched in to decorate Lincoln Hall with posters about each project and highlight events. There was a Chicken Poop Bingo and the Canine project did a demo on the stage. Members socialized with the community and we all ate like kings, thanks to the Foods Project. 

The potluck lunch at Achievement Day is always an impressive spread. The members take a much needed break from the rigors of the day and break bread with neighbors, friends and judges. It's a wonderful way to connect and refuel for the afternoon.
