The 2025-2026 year has been another thrilling year so far. This year marks our 13 th year of having a sheep project with the Crestomere 4-H Multiclub. Currently we have 44 members and 10 cleavers enrolled with their sheep projects. The various
sheep projects that are available to enter are, ewe lamb, yearling ewe, mature ewe, market lamb, cleaver lamb, carcass lamb and sheep production, through the Green Certificate Program. From October until February we do not yet have our lambs, so we spend lots of time learning about sheep and the sheep industry. We do this through learning sessions, games, tours, and guest speakers. Every year will be a little different! The March lamb weigh-in day, officially starts the sheep portion of the project. For the next 2 months we work directly with our lambs/sheep to get them ready to show at Achievement Day. This involves a lot of sheep time practicing handling our sheep, learning how to show, learning how to groom and just having a lot of fun getting to know our sheep and our fellow showmen. Thank you
to Laverne Seib, Charlotte Cutts and Mandie Krause for leading this project!
